Group Details For Going-Walkabout

Walking Faster, Further, Higher. A group aimed at providing walks which are undertaken at a faster speed than the average PU3A walking group. Walks may also be longer or may ascend higher than an average PU3A walking group. Walks will normally be local (within a 30 miles radius of Peterborough) or may occasionally be further afield (within a radius of 100 miles or up to 2 hours driving time from Peterborough).

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month.  If there is a 5th Wednesday in any month it can be used by individual members to reccy a future walk.

We are a friendly group of fit and active people.  Members are expected to be able to walk at a speed of at least 3.3 mph for a distance of around 12 miles.  if you are already a member, just click the "Group Leader" "Contact by email" link below to request more information, or use the "Contact Us" link on the front page.

Members are required to plan, reccy and lead walks from time to time and a rota is used to ensure that members are equally sharing this essential part of running the group.

In joining this group, you are agreeing that your details (as registered with the PU3A) can be shared with the rest of the group.  For the purposes of GDPR compliance this includes your address, email address and contact phone numbers.  These are required to arrange car sharing, meeting up for reccies and generally maintaining communication within the group.
