Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is modified to be practiced while sitting in a chair or using a chair for support. It's designed to make yoga accessible to individuals with mobility limitations, balance issues, or other physical challenges that might make traditional yoga poses difficult. The primary goal of chair yoga remains similar to that of traditional Hatha yoga—to promote physical and mental well-being through gentle movement, breath awareness, and mindfulness. It is especially beneficial to older adult populations. During the class you will be taken through initial breath awareness then some light stretches with time and attention paid to how to safely execute each move. Participants can choose to sit out any exercises or breathing practices they do not wish to take part in. My aim for this class is to create a space where everyone has access to exercise that suits their ability levels.
