Group Details For Wildlife


Group Description :

We are a friendly group who]organise monthly talks on a wide range of different wildlife and wildlife related topics on the fourth Thursday of the month (excluding August and December) which are paid for by variable termly subscriptions, not normally expected to exceed £10.00 per term . The charge for the term to the end of August 2025 will be £7.00, which entitles you to attend all the Thursday talks -and tea and coffee- at no further cost.

Below is an outline of our Talks programme so far for 2024/25


October -     The Re-introduction of the Red Kite
November -  Bird-watching in the Winter Wood, and
                       Books and Equipment for the Wildlife Enthusiast
 December - No meeting 
January    -    Lichens
February -     Dormice
March -         Badgers
April -             Regenerative Farming and Wildlife
May -              Climate Change and Wildlife
June -             Glow-worms
July -               Hedgehogs
August -         No meeting
September - Owls and Other Raptors
October -      Wildlife and Planning; Does the System Work?
November -   So What's So Special about the Fens?
December -   No meeting

In most of the warmer months we organise at least one outing. The dates and times for outings will vary depending on the nature of the trip; it is, for example, tricky to have a bat walk between 2.00 and 4.00 pm!
