Group Details For Belly Dancing - Beginners

Group Description :

Beginners Belly Dance is a low/medium impact activity that exercises the whole body with fluid and stronger moves. Moves are attuned to the female body celebrating femininity, whatever shape. Belly dancing is suitable for all ages and abilities. No previous dance experience necessary. Traditionally danced bare-foot but some ladies wear simple flat shoes such as jazz shoes/ballet pumps. Stocking feet/ trainers are not suitable. A T shirt and trousers, leggings or a full skirt can suffice, but some ladies have bought jangly hip scarves on the internet. We learn choreographed dances to lively traditional and modern music, sometimes using props such as veils, sticks and fans. We are a friendly, fun-loving group who enjoy toning and exercising the body and mind, whilst lifting the spirits. Our qualified Belly Dance Instructor aims to bring the joy of dance and its benefits to all, including those with disabilities/chronic conditions. Contact Jackie to find out if it would be suitable for you. New members receive a warm welcome.
