This group is aimed at catering for anyone who enjoys photography, from the absolute beginner to the skilled enthusiast as a platform to learn from each other and to improve our photography.
This friendly group was originally started by Jen Day with just a handful of members meeting round houses. Now we have many members attending on a regular basis. We meet on the 1st & 3rd Thursday mornings from 09:30 to 12:00 in the Tesco Community Room at Serpentine Green. When there is a third Thursday in a month, we meet ‘on location’, sometimes followed by lunch together.
Some of our members use DSLR cameras whilst others prefer to use a compact camera or maybe even a tablet or mobile phone! As with the wide range of equipment we use, our members have varied experience and skills, but the one thing we all have in common, is our love of photography.
We have a monthly themed competition, giving us an opportunity to display our pictures in A4 format and critique on each image. They are then scored leading up to the end of year when there is an overall winner with the most points and are awarded with a shield. For the second meeting in each month, we have speakers; maybe occasionally outside speakers or one of our group members will give us a talk or lead a workshop.
