Group Details For Pitch and Putt Group One

Members ranging from complete novices to ex-golfers who no longer wish to play on a main golf course meet fortnightly on Mondays at 10 am  (alternate Mondays to Group Two)  to enjoy a round of 12 holes at Thorpe Meadows followed by coffee and chat in a nearby cafe. We don't have competitions and most of us do not maintain a score card, it's just for fun and a chance to meet up with friends and chat as you go around. A draw is made before starting so, up until then, you don't know your playing partners - this is done to discourage “groups within groups" forming, making it a truly integrated event! This activity provides gentle exercise in the fresh air and an opportunity for social contact in a friendly atmosphere. Discounted fees have been negotiated for U3A members. Clubs and balls are provided at no extra charge.
